Abstract
Cyclin-dependent kinases are the key regulators of cell-cycle transitions. In mammalian cells, Cdk2, Cdk4, Cdk6 and associated cyclins control the G(1) to S phase transition. Because proper regulation of this transition is critical for an organism's survival, these protein kinases are exquisitely regulated at different mechanistic levels and in response to a large variety of intrinsic and extrinsic signals.Entities:
