Abstract
The cardiac silhouette as seen on a routine chest film contains considerable information regarding the presence of heart disease, the nature and severity of the disease, and its prognosis. The changes that are seen directly reflect the altered anatomy and physiology of the heart. Appreciation of these factors allows for a reasonable, logical approach to interpretation of the cardiac silhouette.Entities:
