Abstract
Autoimmune pancreatitis, which can be treated with corticosteroid therapy, has the potential to induce diabetes. In a cohort study of 2220 patients with suspected chronic pancreatitis, we found that all four patients with autoimmune chronic pancreatitis also had diabetes. Treatment with prednisolone subsequently improved insulin secretion and glycaemic control in these patients.Entities:
