Abstract
A comprehensive review of the factors responsible for postoperative wound sepsis is discussed, along with the experimental basis for the use of prophylatic antibiotics and a review of the results of the use of systemic and topical antibiotics on the incidence of surgical wound infections. Based on the data presented, suggestions are made which should minimize the development of postoperative wound infections.Entities:
