Abstract
The following complications of pulmonary resection are discussed with reference to their frequency of occurrence, etiology, diagnosis, and treatment: pulmonary insufficiency, arrhythmias, residual intrapleural air spaces, prolonged air leaks, postpneumonectomy empyema, bronchopleural fistula, cardiac herniation, lobar gangrene, esophagopleural fistula, pulmonary embolism, and tumor embolism.Entities:
