Abstract
Interactions between lipid bilayers are critical in many biological processes in which membrane surfaces come close together. Recent X-ray diffraction analyses of bilayers subjected to known osmotic pressures have provided critical information on the magnitude of both the repulsive and the attractive forces that exist between phospholipid and glycolipid membranes.Entities:
