K Vangsgaard1.

Abstract

Postpartum haemorrhage is a serious obstetric problem. Two to five percent of deliveries may lead to postpartum haemorrhage with a blood loss > 1000 ml within the first 24 hours. One of the causes is uterine atony. One case of postpartum atony with excess bleeding is presented. The B-Lynch surgical technique was used for control of the haemorrhage without any side effects. The technique is surgically easy, and effective. It is advisable to use before other surgical procedures are effectuated.
