Abstract
This review examines self-efficacy as a determinant of exercise adherence and as an outcome of physical activity. Additionally, studies that have either manipulated self-efficacy or employed efficacy-based interventions to enhance exercise participation are discussed. Finally, recommendations for future applications of social cognitive theory to the physical activity domain are made.Mesh:
