Abstract
Thrombosed varix in the oral region often appears as a pigmented mass in the mucosa simulating a hemangiomatous lesion. It rarely occurs in the deeper orofacial region. We report a case of thrombosed varix in the submandibular space with symptoms of a tumor. The clinical symptoms and MRI and CT findings are discussed. The clinical symptoms were not characteristics. High signal intensity on CT (80 HU) and a concentric signal distribution on CT and MRI may suggest a thrombosed varix.Entities:
