Excessive tearing in infancy and early childhood. The role and treatment of congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.

Abstract

The causes of excessive tearing in infancy can be distinguished by their clinical characteristics. Nasolacrimal duct obstruction is quite common but usually resolves without intervention. When necessary, surgical intervention very often results in a successful outcome.
