Fracture of the entire posterior process of the talus: a case report.

P P Iyakutty, V Singaravadivelu.

Abstract

A fracture of the entire posterior process of talus is rare. In this case report, the authors present a case of isolated displaced fracture of the entire posterior process, which was treated by early open reduction and internal fixation through a posterolateral approach. The fracture healed without evidence of avascular necrosis of either the posterior fragment or the talar body. The aim of this article is to highlight the importance of early internal fixation of this uncommon type of fracture.
