Abstract
This chapter describes examples of genetic variation involved in the function or regulation of a number of haemostatic proteins involved in the thrombotic process. In each case, the data suggest associations between genotype and disease and, particularly in the case of fibrinogen, PAI-1, Factor VII and Factor XIII, there is interaction between genotype and environment in determination of the relevant plasma level, providing a possible explanation for the differential response of individuals to their environment.Entities:
