Abstract
High levels of CO are used to mimic the stimulatory response of the CSN initiated by hypoxia. Using light of different wavelengths we show that the stimulatory effects of high CO can be pinpointed to the cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This supports the metabolic theory of oxygen sensing in the mitochondria.Entities:
