Abstract
Notch signalling is best known for its role in lateral inhibition, where it acts to prevent differentiation of cells neighbouring one that has 'won out' in a competition to differentiate. Recent results suggest that Notch signalling can work in the opposite way, and promote differentiation of the receiving cells.Mesh:
