[Effect of cordycepine on cultured chicken fibroblasts].

Cordycepin strongly inhibits cell multiplication in chick fibroblasts cultivated in vitro. Many cells cannot enter into mitosis and cell separation at telophase is disturbed. However, DNA synthesis takes place. Nucleolar alterations observed in the treated cells are probably responsible for some of these effects.
