Abstract
A case of tracheobronchial amyloidosis is described in a 39 year-old man. The diagnosis was established histologically by a bronchoscopic biopsy which revealed a diffuse infiltrative process in the tracheobronchial tree. Due to the symptoms of obstruction of the lower respiratory tract the patient was treated with Prednisone and Melphalan and with partial excision of amyloid deposits by bronchoscopy. Bronchoscopy although carrying a risk of bleeding is the procedure of choice in diagnosis and therapy of such cases.Entities:
