Abstract
Although the importance of cell growth for cell-cycle progression has been recognized for thirty years, the molecular basis of this relationship is poorly understood. However, researchers have begun to tease apart these two processes in model systems. This commentary focuses on one potential mechanism by which ribosome biogenesis antagonizes cell-cycle progression until the cell has grown to an adequate size.Mesh:
