Abstract
Unusual causes of stroke account for a minority of all strokes, but they have specific diagnostic and therapeutic implications which must be considered early in the clinical course. This article focuses on arteriopathies such as arterial dissection, vasospasm-induced stroke, and vasculitis; hematological disorders such as hypercoagulable states, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and sickle cell disease; migraine-induced stroke, and cerebral venous thrombosis.Entities:
