Abstract
External fixation for uncomplicated forearm fractures is rarely performed. The situation is different in a multiply injured patient or in a fracture with considerable soft tissue damage. In these cases the external fixator confers quick and efficient stabilisation which meets the requirements of adequate nursing and aids recovery of the general and local condition. Later change to an appropriate internal fixation procedure for definitive fracture treatment is recommended.Entities:
