Abstract
We describe a method to harden the nucleus of crystalline lenses in postmortem human globes by intralenticular injection of a mixture of paraformaldehyde and glutaraldehyde (Karnovsky's solution). Evaluation of the nuclear manipulations, using the Miyake-Apple posterior video/photographic technique, shows that the method provides suitable specimens for practicing extracapsular cataract extraction and phacoemulsification.Entities:
