Abstract
The reaction between ethanolamine and sugars in a borate solution gave intense UV absorption at 310 nm. By adding ethanolamine in the mobile phase, simple and sensitive ion-exchange HPLC of sugar-borate complexes was achieved. This method can be used to measure as little as 100 pmole of seven monosaccharides from pectic polysaccharides.Entities:
