Abstract
Hearts of embryonic mice 9 days in utero were found to have an endogenous source of cholinergic neurons which can survive in dispersed cell cultures. These neurons are electrically excitable, have ultrastructural characteristics of cholinergic embryonic neurons, and functionally innervate heart cells in culture. The nature of the innervation described is muscarinic cholinergic.Entities:
