Abstract
Controlled release delivery systems have become available for the sustained delivery of antimicrobial agents directly to the periodontal pocket. These systems have shown clinical efficacy in periodontal therapy both as adjunctive treatments and as stand-alone therapies. A review of the current state-of-the-art of site specific delivery of antimicrobial agents for the treatment of periodontal disease is provided.Entities:
