Abstract
The purpose of this study was to search the effects of IL-1 on the orthodontic tooth movement and alveolar bone by animal experiment. The distance of tooth movement was measured and histologic changes were observed. 12 rabbits were divided into two groups. IL-1 was injected in the gingiva around the moving tooth of the experimental group. The rate of tooth movement and the number of osteoclasts of the two groups were compared. The results suggested that IL-1 can promote the tooth movement and increase the number of osteoclasts and can also promote bone remodelling.Entities:
