Abstract
A short review of the biochemical and clinical concepts of migraine and the different therapeutic approaches as well as the surgical procedure for the treatment of migraine is followed by the description of the treatment of eight patients suffering from atypical migraine. The selection of patients for this operation is limited to those cases suffering from classic migraine with the migraine attacks occurring in one and always the same side of the face and head. A step by step account of the procedure for the excision of a part of the super-zygomatic part of the superficial temporal artery is given with the results and the four year follow-up. In selected cases of atypical migraine, the above simple operation, may be curative.Entities:
