Abstract
The global threat of antimicrobial resistance and potentially untreatable infections is a serious matter under review currently by the WHO and many countries throughout the world. I consider the optimal surveillance scheme and point out the various biases in the systems that we have been using in the UK over the last decade. MRSA are used as an example where similar trends have been identified in these systems and the information has, once again, proved to be of value to the MRSA control working party.Mesh:
