Abstract
The CD95 protein delivers crucial signals for lymphocyte death, and may also negatively regulate T-lymphocyte activation by preventing the influx of calcium ions from the cell's exterior. The block in calcium-ion influx occurs through the activation of acidic sphingomyelinase and the release of ceramide, a metabolite that can also induce cell death.Entities:
