Abstract
Water molecules are found in abundance in protein-protein and protein-DNA interfaces. Although interface solvent molecules exchange quickly with the bulk solvent, structural and biochemical data suggest that water-mediated interactions are as important as direct hydrogen bonds in the stability and specificity of recognition.Entities:
