Abstract
The presence of B, T, and monocyte markers were studied on the spleen and peripheral blood mononuclear cells from two patients with leukemic reticuloendotheliosis. A high proportion of cells from both patients bore a receptor for cytophilic antibody, both in suspension and frozen tissue section. Cells in suspension lacked surface immunoglobulins or a receptor for sheep red blood cells. These results favor the evidence that "hairy cells" are monocytic in origin.Entities:
