Abstract
Robert Liston was probably the best surgeon in his day, being noted for his skill and his speed as an operator. His life as surgeon, teacher and writer have been reviewed. Examples of some of his cases are given to illustrate the outstanding ability of this man in the pre-anaesthetic era.Entities:
