Abstract
Entrapment neuropathies occur when nerves are chronically compressed or mechanically injured at specific locations. Some of these focal neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome are common, and others such as neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome are rare. This article highlights recent advances and interesting observations that cover a wide spectrum of such focal neuropathies. Selected disorders that can affect individual peripheral nerves and masquerade as 'entrapment neuropathies' are also emphasized.Entities:
