Lipoplasty complications and their prevention.

M K Gingrass1.

Abstract

Liposuction is a very popular plastic surgical procedure with acceptably low risks; however, any surgical procedure has some inherent risks. It is imperative that the surgeon has a clear understanding of possible complications associated with liposuction, as well as their prevention and treatment. This article addresses a comprehensive list of complications associated with liposuction in general and, where applicable, addresses differences in risk between ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty and suction-assisted lipoplasty.
