[Psychological impact of congenital heart failure].

Abstract

Survival rates of patients with congenital heart defects are getting better, but society and the medical system are more and more confronted with the psychosocial problems of those young adults with congenital diseases. Psychosomatic chronification should be added to the chronical somatic illness, success in school education, job and survival have psychic impacts. Depression, neuroticisms and problematic relationships load a burden on patients and their environment as well as on doctors and nurses.
