Tracheoesophageal voice restoration: origin--evolution--state-of-the-art.

Abstract

Tracheoesophageal voice has gradually evolved worldwide as a viable option for voice restoration following total laryngectomy. This article presents a brief overview of the principal surgical and prosthetic aspects of this technique.
