Abstract
The paper highlights the need for knowledge of the principles and methods of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) among Nigerian therapists, the historical development of the model, the theoretical framework of the model, and the behavioural and cognitive techniques in common use. Although the method is limited in its use to educated people, the number of such persons is rising in our population. CBT meets the African patients need to be directed and the therapists need for brevity.Entities:
