Lifetime of Floating Drops under Low Pressure.

To test the current explanation of the so-called floating drops phenomenon by the thinning and drainage of an interstitial film, we have produced such drops under low pressure. Our results show a lifetime of drops exceeding two h, which refutes previous results published in the literature. Copyright 1999 Academic Press.
