Abstract
The management of a baby born with a major disability presents one of the most significant ethical problems faced at the end of the second millenium. These problems concern the individual baby and its family, but society as a whole is and must be involved in their resolution. This article explores these issues as they impact on the contemporary surgeon confronted with changing medical, technical, and ethical considerations. Keywords: Professional Patient Relationship
