Abstract
The SR (Ser-Arg) proteins are a family of nuclear factors that play multiple important roles in splicing of mRNA precursors in metazoan organisms, functioning in both constitutive and regulated splicing. Certain of these functions are redundant, such that any single SR proteins will suffice, but other functions are unique and are specific to a given family member. A number of studies during the past year have investigated the basis for SR protein specificity.Entities:
