The Theoretical Concept of At-Risk Adolescents.

.

Abstract

The opening article of this issue defines and reviews the concept of risk-taking during adolescence and presents a theoretical model for understanding the mechanisms for the onset and maintenance of risk behaviors. The individual behaviors (sexual behavior, substance use, and vehicle use) are often interrelated and the mechanisms for onset may be similar.
