Abstract
Blood pressure (BP) reduction was compared between patients receiving angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors alone and patients receiving these medications plus statins after 3 months of dietary intervention. Although BP was similarly reduced at week 4, the statin-treated group had a greater reduction in BP and total cholesterol levels at week 16, suggesting a synergistic effect between cholesterol lowering with statins and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor treatment for hypertensive patients.Entities:
