Abstract
Recent x-ray observations have shown that a substantial fraction of newly born neutron stars have magnetic fields of several 10(14) G. They reveal themselves as soft gamma repeaters and anomalous x-ray pulsars and may account for the missing radio pulsars in young supernova remnants.Year: 1999 PMID: 10318885 PMCID: PMC33576 DOI: 10.1073/pnas.96.10.5351
