Medicare program; hospice care--HCFA. Final rule.

.

Abstract

These regulations implement section 122 of Pub. L. 97-248, the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, that provides coverage for hospice care for terminally ill Medicare beneficiaries who elect to receive care from a participating hospice. The regulations establish eligibility requirements and reimbursement standards and procedures, define covered services, and delineate the conditions a hospice must meet to be approved for participation in the Medicare program.
