Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis in the orang-utan (Pongo pygmaeus).

D F Kelly.

Abstract

A 19-years-old male Orang-Utan had a brief illness of two weeks with marked dyspnoea. Necropsy revealed diffuse bilateral pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis. This is the first account of this pathoanatomical entity in lower primates.
