Abstract

BACKGROUND: Hamartomas of the urinary bladder are extremely rare. We report on a case in a 58-year-old female who presented with the chief complaint of pain on urination. METHODS/
RESULTS: Cystoscopy revealed a solid tumor on the left posterior wall of the bladder. Transurethral resection of the tumor failed to provide a definitive pathological diagnosis of the tumor. Thus, we performed partial cystectomy. The pathological diagnosis was hamartoma arising from the urinary bladder.
CONCLUSION: This is the ninth case diagnosed as urinary bladder hamartoma to be reported in the literature.
