Abstract

Using passive haemagglutination test, 48 human strains of Staphylococcus aureus cultivated on trypticase soya have been shown to be non-producers, but after subcultures especially on gelified "Oxoid broth n 2", 46 strains (95%) produced protein A. This observation points out the troubles encountered during protein A detection on the field of routine work.
