Diverticular disease of the colon and megacolon. Incidence in a psychiatric centre compared with a teaching hospital.

Abstract

A five-year survey of hospital admissions at a modern mental hospital reveals a rarity in the incidence of diverticular disease of the colon and its complications and a greatly increased frequency of idiopathic megacolon and its complications compared with patients admitted to a general hospital.
