Abstract
Feeling the weight of managed care, doctors and nurses at a Midwestern health system have joined forces to reduce costs and average lengths of stay (LOS) in a key practice area--orthopedics. The result has been a 40 percent decrease in average length of stay over a three-year period.Mesh：
