Abstract
Ultrastructural studies on regenerating protoplasts of Schizosaccharomyces pombe show that the spatial differentiation of the plasmalemma into grooves and flat areas is reflected in a functional differentiation in cell-wall synthesis. The grooves are the initial site of production of wall fibrils.Entities:
