Abstract
Genetically modified mammalian cells are the preferred system for the production of recombinant therapeutic glycoproteins. Other applications include engineering of cell lines for drug screening and cell-based therapies, and the construction of recombinant viruses for gene therapy. This article highlights contemporary core genetic technologies and emerging strategies for genetically engineering mammalian cells for optimal recombinant-protein expression.Entities:
