Aerosol delivery to children: what to use, how to choose.

M Dolovich1.

Abstract

Careful in vitro assessment of aerosol delivery devices using realistic breathing patterns can be advantageous in choosing an efficient and efficacious delivery system for infants and children. These modeling investigations become more important in assessing delivery to the very young patient, more so if the treatment is not as successful as anticipated. The choices in devices to use for inhalant therapy are increasing and physicians and patients should have a good understanding of the functional differences between them.
